February is a busy month for performances, which is GREAT, because the cold months can be brutal. There are 4 private events I'm doing this month too, but I'm not going to put those in here, just the public ones. Here goes:
1. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 11:00 a.m. CST (Central Time); I will sing and play with 'Metro Jazz Voices' at the Freedom Hall Nathan Manilow Theater, 410 Lakewood Blvd., Park Forest IL; Tickets are $10. It's a special Valentine's Day-themed show, and our first in the Land of Lincoln!
2. Friday, Feb. 8, 7:30 p.m.; I will sing and play with 'Metro Jazz Voices' at the Farmington Players BARN Theater, 32332 W. 12-Mile Rd., Farmington MI. Tickets are $17. or $19., depending on where you sit. Another special 'Valentine's LOVE themed' concert; reservations at (248) 473-1848
3. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 7:00 p.m., at Dakota High School, 21051 21-Mile Rd., Macomb Twp. MI; I am honored to serve as Guest Conductor for the MI District 16 High School All-Star Jazz Band, which includes students from 7 different high schools in Macomb County; very talented, serious kids, and a BIG pleasure to work with them, and hopefully impart a little 'wisdom from music school AND from the road' to them. Come support some great young musicians, and it's FREE!
4. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 6:00 p.m., at O'Conners Public House, 324 S. Main St., Rochester MI, for a 'Valentines/Classic Cocktail Happy Hour.' I'll be singing and playing horns with the 'Carl Cafagna & Friends Jazz Trio', also featuring Shannon Wade on bass and Sven Anderson on keys. We feature standards from the 'Swing Era' and the 'Great American Songbook,' both vocal and instrumental. NO cover, and great drink specials, in a fun atmosphere, in the heart of downtown Rochester. Call (248) 608-2537 for more info.
More exciting gigs coming up in March; stay tuned, music lovers!
