1. Thursday, June 7: I'm priveledged to share the stage with the legendary JOHNNY MATHIS, at the 'Sound Board' at Motor City Casino, Detroit. Unfortunately, the show was already SOLD OUT before I was even booked to play, but I thought I'd tell you about it anyway; a dream come true!
2. Friday, June 8: I'll be playing sax with STEWART FRANCKE, Detroit's best Rock Singer/Songwriter, at 8:00 p.m., on the Maplewood Concert Series, 78 Kenwood Rd., Grosse Pointe Farms.
3. Wednesday, June 13: Playing horns and Singing, aboard the DETROIT PRINCESS Riverboat, with the 'Bayou River Band' for a Public Lunch Cruise. Boards near Cobo Hall, Detroit, at 11:00 a.m., and back at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $36. for adults, less for children and seniors, and includes a buffet lunch. Order at www.detroitprincess.com

1. Wednesday, March 7, 8-10 p.m.: CARL, singing & playing with METRO JAZZ VOICES at the 'Jazz Forum' concert series, Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church, 17150 Maumee Ave., Grosse Pointe. Tickets are $15. at the door, but are $13. if ordered in advance. Our 4-part harmony will sparkle in this lovely acoustical setting!
2. Thursday, March 15, 8-11 p.m.: CARL, playing with the SCOTT GWINNELL DECTET at the 'Jazz Cafe at Music Hall Center', 350 Madison St., Detroit. $5. cover, for creative large-group instrumental jazz.
3. Friday, March 23, 7-10 p.m.: CARL, singing with METRO JAZZ VOICES at the 'World Voice Day Celebration', hosted by Lakeshore ENT Clinic, at the Baldwin Theater, 415 S. Lafayette St., Royal Oak. MJV will be featured, along with 20 other vocalists and vocal groups from the Metro area. There is also a dinner and a program; for more info., please call (248)541-6430.

The event is from 6-9 p.m., and we perform starting at 6:30. $32., includes tons of free food from Ferndale restaurants, and free giveaways.

1. SATURDAY, JANUARY 7: 1:00-4:00 p.m., 'Carl Cafagna & the Creole Kitchen' performs at Shield's Pizza, 25101 Telegraph Rd., Southfield MI. There is a small cover charge, that supports the Greater Detroit Jazz Society, which puts on this monthly concert series. Our 6-piece New Orleans-style ensemble will knock your socks off! Shield's has great food, at reasonable prices. It's a win-win-win!

Carl Cafagna's December '11 Gigs
December 2011 for Me consists mostly of Private Music engagements, at Country Clubs and the like; however, I do have several Public engagements. I hope to see all of you once more, before the end of the year:

Sunday, December 4, Detroit Institute of Arts, 5200 Woodward Ave., Detroit: Carl playing tenor sax with the 'Detroit Tenors' also featuring Steve Wood on tenor, Scott Gwinnell, piano, Pat Prouty, bass and Sean Dobbins, drums. Performances from 1:00-2:00 and 3:00-4:00 p.m., in the Kresge Court, as part of the DIAs new 'Sunday Music Bar' series. Free with DIA membership, otherwise there is a small cover charge. This is a fun, upbeat band, in an inspiring spot, and it's Family-Friendly at the DIA on sundays!
2. Friday, December 9, 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.: Carl, playing and singing with the 'Bayou River Band' aboard the Detroit Princess Riverboat, on the Detroit River. Boards at 11 at corner of Civic Center Dr. & Atwater St., Detroit, near Cobo Arena. Tickets are $40. for Adults, $20. for Children under 12 and $36. for Seniors, and includes a Buffet Lunch. Cash Bar is available. Great New Orleans and Swing Jazz, and we stroll and play requests! Our new CD will be available for purchase too.
3. Saturday, December 24, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Christmas Eve New Orleans Jazz! Carl, playing and singing with the 'Bayou River Band' at Best Sellers Bookstore/Cafe, 360 S. Jefferson, Mason. Free, and our new CD will be available for purchase. Great deli food, and a fun musical getaway, in the midst of Holiday preparation.
4. Saturday, December 31, 9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.: New Years Eve; for any of you who would like to ring in the New Year Ballroom Dancing, Carl and the 'Jay Mitzner Orchestra' will be playing for Ballroom and Swing Dancing at the Grand Ledge Country Club, 5811 E. St. Joe Highway, Grand Ledge. The event is hosted by the Les Danseurs Dance Club, and reservations are available by calling (517)663-2801, or at lesdanseurs.com ($60. per couple, includes food & champagne toast). Great way to ring in 2012!

A great mix of instrumental and vocal jazz by some up-and-coming college students; don't miss it!
