I've got a lot of private events this month, but there are some public things too; hope you can make it to one or more!
1. FRIDAY, JUNE 13, 11:00 am; I'll be singing & playing horns with the 'Bayou River Band' aboard the DETROIT PRINCESS Riverboat, which docks near Hart Plaza, downtown DETROIT. Info. & tickets at www.detroitprincess.com ; includes a buffet lunch, sightseeing and our great New Orleans Jazz music!
2. SUNDAY, JUNE 15, 1:30 pm; I'll be singing & playing horns with the 'Bayou River Band' aboard the MICHIGAN PRINCESS Riverboat, which docks at Grand River Park, near downtown LANSING MI. This is a special Father's Day Brunch, and includes a buffet lunch, sightseeing and our great New Orleans Jazz music!
3. THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 7:00 pm; I'll be singing and playing sax & flute with my band, 'METRO JAZZ VOICES', at the MEADOWBROOK HALL GARDEN, 480 S. Adams Rd., ROCHESTER MI, as part of their 'Jazz in the Garden' concert series. Reservations are $30., and include refreshments and a cash bar. 4. FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 8:00 pm; I'll be playing horns with the JOHNNY TRUDELL ORCHESTRA and Sinatra-type vocalist MARK RANDISI, at the ANDIAMO ITALIA SHOWROOM, 7096 E. 14-Mile Rd., WARREN MI. Reservations at (586)268-3200.
5. TUESDAY, JUNE 24, 7:15 pm; I'll be singing & playing with 'METRO JAZZ VOICES', at SCOTIA PARK in HUNTINGTON WOODS MI. FREE, Family-Friendly Outdoor concert; bring a lawnchair or blanket. (248)581-2700 for more info.

Carl Cafagna's March 2014 Gigs

Here are my public performances for March; hope you can make some of them:
1. TUESDAY, MARCH 4, 6:30 p.m.; I'll be playing horns with the 'SCOTT GWINNELL QUARTET' at Northern Lakes Seafood Restaurant, 5500 Crooks Rd., TROY MI. Come celebrate Fat Tuesday with us; 21+only.
2. FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 6:00 p.m.; I'll be playing soprano sax with my group 'Carl Cafagna & the North Star Saxophone Quartet' at ART HOUSE DETROIT, 59 Alfred St., a 19th-century Victorian-style mansion in Uptown Detroit. Our concert celebrates MARDI-GRAS and will feature French, New Orleans and Jazz. There will also be Crescent City themed refreshments and tours of this unique antique home. Tickets are $35.
3. SUNDAY, MARCH 9, 4:00 p.m.; I'll be singing and playing horns with my band 'CARL CAFAGNA & FRIENDS' Jazz Trio at the REC' BOWL, 40 Crocker Blvd., downtown MT. CLEMENS MI. This event is sponsored by the Greater Detroit Jazz Society; FREE admission and good food/drink in a relaxed atmosphere; My trio features Gary Allen, guitar and Shannon Wade, bass. 5. SATURDAY, MARCH 15, 6:30 p.m.; I'll be singing and playing horns with the 'James O'Donnell Trio' at the BLUE POINTE, 17131 E. Warren Ave., DETROIT; 21+only. Call (313)882-3653 for more info.
6. SUNDAY, MARCH 16, 5:00 p.m.; I'll be singing & playing with my band 'CARL CAFAGNA & the CREOLE KITCHEN' as part of the B-Jazz Vespers concert series at First Baptist Church of Birmingham, 300 Willits St., Birmingham MI. Come continue the Mardi-Gras party with us! Carl Cafagna's February 2014 Gigs
Hey, gang,
Carl here; I hope everyone is managing to survive this Winter of all Winters! My daughters, who love snow, are thrilled, but the rest of us are getting tired of shoveling! Kind of reminds me of the movie "The Day after Tomorrow," a movie I think all Americans should see.
Anyway, enough idle chatter! Here's my public gig list for this month:
1. Thursday, February 13, 7:00 p.m.; I'll be playing saxes and clarinet with the Marge's Bar Band at Marge's Bar, 15300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park MI. Pleased to be filling in for Jim Wise, on this regular gig which has been continuing for many years now! Good ole' New Orleans and Swing-style jazz in a relaxed informal setting; 21+ Only please.
