Carl Cafagna's October 2013 Gigs
Hey Gang
CARL here; October typically starts to thin out a little and this one is no exception (sadly); however there are a few public things. I do have a number of private function gigs this month but I have a strict policy against publicizing these. There's a chance I will get some last-minute work later this month on the Michigan Princess in Lansing; stay tuned for that. Otherwise:
1. Sunday October 20 1:00 p.m.; I'll be playing horns with the Johnny Trudell Quintet for an event celebrating the world-famous Packard automobile at the historic 'Packard Proving Grounds' in Shelby Twp. MI. There's tons of old cars on display and also food and entertainment. $5. cover charge. For more info. visit www.packardmotorfdn.org
2. Sunday October 27 4:00 p.m.; I'll be playing tenor sax with the Detroit Tenors (also featuring my co-leader Steve Wood) in concert at Jefferson Ave. Presbyterian Church located at 8625 E. Jefferson Ave. Detroit MI. This is part of the monthly 'Jazz at JAPC' series founded by jazz pioneer Dr. Jim Ruffner and now continued after his passing by his wife Ms. Trenna Ruffner. An important link in the chain of local culture; please come out and support it!
Well there it is for now; hope to see you at one or both!
Keep music in your hearts
